Auto Insurance FAQ

Do I need auto insurance?

A minimum amount of car insurance is required by law in Minnesota, in order to drive on public roads. Mandated coverage includes auto liability, uninsured/underinsured motorist liability, and personal injury protection. There are a variety of additional optional coverages that can be added to your policy.

What is auto gap insurance?

Gap insurance covers the difference between the balance of your auto loan and the determined value of your car after a total loss. I.e. You owe $20,000 on the loan but the car is only valued at $18,000 at the time of loss. Gap covers the $2,000 difference.
